Scoil Mhuire NS benefits from Muller €2,275 Sports Equipment win!

Thursday November 29th was a most exciting day at school as the school had a day long visit with Ireland's leading 400m sprinter Brian Gregan! This was was part of the treat that came with the brilliant prize of €2,275 worth of Sports Equipment which was won by Trish Hackett after she had entered a Muller Sponsored Competition during the summer. What a surprise Trish received when she received an email in October to inform her that she was one of the 10 lucky winners across the UK and Ireland! It turns out that Scoil Mhuire NS was the only school among the prize winners on the island of Ireland! Trish, whose daughter Orla is in Sixth Class, nominated us to be the beneficiary of her prize win and we will be always grateful to her for that.

We were delighted to welcome Brian Gregan, Abi Pettit, Senior Marketing Executive of Atom Marketing who flew in from Manchester to be with us, Francis Lally, local Muller Sales representative and Paul Kilgallon from Leitrim Sports Partnership to the school yesterday. Brian relayed his life story to a general assembly of the pupils and took part in a Q and A session. It was out to the yard then for fun and games which were excellently coordinated by Paul Kilgallon with Brian engaging and encouraging all through.

Overall it was a brillliant day and one to remember for all concerned. We are delighted with our luck, thanks to Trish, and are looking forward to spending the voucher received in the not too distant future!!
